Piggott Lake
Discover swimming, paddling, fishing, boating and year-round outdoor recreation on Piggott Lake in Mount Uniacke, Nova Scotia.
Your Day on the Water, Your Way
Piggott Lake is more than a beautiful backdrop—it is one of the defining experiences at Fisher’s Lakeside. Surrounded by the wooded landscape of Mount Uniacke, this freshwater lake offers year-round recreation in a peaceful natural setting. During the warmer months, guests can swim, kayak, canoe, paddleboard and fish, or explore the lake using a motorized boat or personal watercraft. A boat launch located adjacent to the property makes it especially convenient for guests bringing their own boat or Sea-Doo.
Fishing offers a quieter way to experience Piggott Lake, with smallmouth bass and chain pickerel reported by local anglers. Guests can cast from the waterfront or head onto the lake in search of their own favourite spot. Early mornings are particularly peaceful, when the water is often at its calmest and the surrounding shoreline is reflected across the lake.
The experience continues beyond the water. Country roads and wooded trails around Mount Uniacke invite exploration by bicycle, ATV or side-by-side wherever access is permitted. In autumn, the forest surrounding the lake transforms into rich shades of gold, orange and red. When winter arrives and ice conditions safely permit, skating offers an entirely different way to enjoy the lake.
Whether you prefer an active day of swimming, paddling and boating or a quiet evening watching the light move across the water, Piggott Lake is a destination in its own right—and an essential part of the Fisher’s Lakeside experience.
